Pearless Speller Open House Sunday

The Bertie County Arts Council featured artist for the month of May is Pearless Speller. They will hold an open house to show his works Sunday, May 6th, from 2 to 4 PM at the BCAC Gallery in Windsor.

Speller studied art at A&T University and UNC Greensboro. He was art teacher at Bertie County High School and Southwestern Middle School from 1989 until 1993. Now when he's not painting, he works at Cox Communistaion's Daily Reflector in Greenville.

Speller believes his love of painting began as a small child when his grandmother always handed him paper and told him to draw. "That one word molded and shaped my life" said Speller. "That's the power of words."
