Bracy Resigns Bertie Seat

Michael Bracy, one of two newly seated members of the Bertie County Board of Education, announced that effective May 31, 2007, he will resign his seat as a member of the board.

Bracy, who made the announcement on April 3, has been offered and has accepted a position as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Testing and Accountability with Jones County Public Schools in Trenton.

Bracy expressed sentiments that after much discussion and prayer, his loyalties had to be with his family and career.

Mrs. Bracy will join her husband in furthering her education career in Jones County.

Mike Bracy is a very bright man who could have provided valuable insights into the problems we are faced with here in Bertie County if he had finished his term of office. He has been in office less than 4 months out of a 4 year term.
