Arts Council Open House
A Great Success
Last night's Bertie County Arts Council Open House was an exciting night. With guests of honor Senator Ed Jones and Representative Ann Mobley present, there was a constant stream of visitors to meet the honored guests and see the great artwork of Berite County Artists. It probably was a good thing everyone did not stick around the entire night as we clearly could not have fit them all in at the same time.
Windsor's great Mayor, Bob Spivey, was there to greet the honored guests and introduce them to the local community.
Senator Ed Jones expressed his appreciation for the Arts Community and talked about his efforts to continue state funding for the arts.
Representative Ann Mobley reminded everyone that she had worked here in Bertie County and that she felt like she was coming home when she got a chance to visit Windsor.
Leah Newsome, from Colerain, provided great ambiance with her music, helping to set a festive and holiday spirit to the occasion.
Below are some examples of the great local artists whose work was on display. This is just a sampling. Their art and the works of many others will be on display the entire month and everyone should drop by the Arts Council Gallery in Windsor to enjoy what they have to offer. There is some great art. You might even find something you want to see hanging in your home!
Phyllis Johnson - "San Souci Ferry"
Dr. Fred Saunders - "Outer Banks Morning"
Margaret Attkisson - "Golden Leaf"
Carolyn Dail - "The Old Home"
June Adams - "Yellow Roses"
Cleo Warlick - "Fishing Shack" (Top Picture Above)
