Bertie Native Son Presents D&B Services

Richard Whitley opened the Windsor Rotary meeting on Thursday and talked about some of the current activities of the club.

An important one is the Rotary sponsorship of the annual Red Cross Blood Drive, planned this year for Tuesday August 19th, 2008 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. It will be held, as
last year, at the Community Center on Queen Street. Please plan to be there.

He then introudced our speaker. The day's presentation was by recently returned Bertie County native Ron Wesson. Ron spent 32 years with D&B, ultimately becoming a Senior Vice President with this prestigious organization.

Ron explained the goals of the organization, its history, and the value of its services to small businesses like the ones you find in a small community like Windsor and Bertie County.

One thing Ron clarified was the exclusively business to business nature of D&B and how they avoided getting in to the consumer credit reporting field as a matter of business focus.

Richard Whitley (above right) presented the traditional cobalt blue coffee mug with gold seal to Ron Wesson (above left) as a thank you for the presentation.
